How to deal with difficult people

Difficult people are everywhere. They are at our  work places, in our families, among our friends etc. Therefore it is imperative you understand how to handle them .This article will educate you on how to deal with difficult people and come out on top.

LOOK INWARD

Take a good look at the man in the mirror.

Examine yourself as it possible that it is your actions or in actions that are causing tension in the relationship. You may even be the person that is hard to get along with.

Take corrective action if it is so.

REMAIN CALM AND CONFIDENT

Do not lose your cool or get intimidated

It is very important to keep your composure when dealing with difficult people. Be confident and control your emotions.

Only respond to issues when calm .Losing your temper will only make matters worse

 DON’T TAKE IT PERSONAL

Recondition your mind as it is not always about you.

Do not personalize the expressions or actions of difficult people towards you.It will only get you worked up.

Always keep in mind that it is their personality and hence they treat almost everyone the same way.

COMMUNICATE IN A CLEAR AND ASSERTIVE MANNER.

Poor communication will only worsen the already tense scenario.

Be a good listener and always speak in a clear, concise and assertive manner so that you will be well understood.

Also avoid being defensive and seek for clarifications when necessary.

MAINTAIN A POSITIVE ATTITUDE

You are responsible for how you feel. Always look for the positives in situations and people. Everyone has a good side.

Maintaining a positive attitude makes you stronger, reduces stress and enables you to handle issues better.
